Ace Steel made his AEW return with the launch of Collision this past July, and a new report from Fightful Select has revealed details on his current status and role.
Steel was brought back after being fired for his involvement in the post-All Out 2022 backstage brawl. The former ROH wrestler is currently involved in AEW creative alongside CM Punk.
Steel met with AEW President Tony Khan in the months leading to Collision’s launch and it was decided that he could return to AEW in a role that wouldn’t let him be on the road with the company.
Steel is allowed to work outside of AEW, and his deal reportedly expires in the fall of 2024.
Steel confers on a lot of aspects and has periodic conversations with Khan while suggesting ideas for Punk’s creative specifically.
Finally, it was noted that there was a suggestion that Khan paid back Steel for the time he was out.
