As we saw last night at WrestleMania 37 (Night One), Michael Cole ended up being the play-by-play analyst for the entire card. This was not the original plan. Tom Phillips was originally supposed to call the RAW matches, with Cole calling the SmackDown side. However, Phillips was removed from the show due to a “COVID protocol”. There is no official word on if Philips was diagnosed with COVID-19 or if he wasn’t feeling well and therefore was removed as a simple precaution. Dave Meltzer reported that Phillips is not expected to return to commentating duties tomorrow on RAW.

Adnan Virk is said to be replacing Phillips following WrestleMania 37. According to Meltzer, Phillips “may not be back” in WWE. While that’s not yet confirmed, that’s the story going around.
