As previously reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, MLW Radio host Court Bauer claimed that WWE announcer Lilian Garcia had been released by WWE. This turned out to be false as Garcia was actually away from WWE to tend to her father, who is battling cancer. Lilian later released a statement confirming that she was not released and was simply given some time off.
Also, during a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio, many people in the WWE reportedly believed that Garcia was fired from the company. However, Dave Meltzer says he was getting contradicting reports from other people backstage, who said Garcia was still employed by WWE. Meltzer said he was told that a few more stars could be released by WWE after the recent round of Superstars who were let go. This reportedly led Meltzer into believing that Garcia could be one of those getting released.
