According to a report in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the next WWE TakeOver special will take place on Sunday, February 16th, 2020 in Portland, Oregon. The next UK TakeOver event will take place on January 12th, 2020. WWE is reportedly putting the upcoming NXT TakeOver shows on Sunday as an “experiment” to see how they will perform on the WWE Network.

As far as the January 25th Worlds Collide event during Royal Rumble weekend is concerned, WWE is advertising the event as a NXT vs. NXT UK show in a “clash for brand supremacy.” As of this writing, the show is expected to be built around several NXT vs. NXT UK matches that the fans have never been able to see. The plans have been in the works for several months now, and it was planned well before WWE decided to run with a similar concept for Survivor Series 2019.

WWE is reportedly planning to experiment with more shows like Worlds Collide on a Saturday before a WWE pay-per-view. Meanwhile, the NXT TakeOver shows will be placed on Sunday. This would make Sunday the destination for each major show for every WWE brand. However, these plans are are still said to be in the “experimental phase.”
