WWE NXT has featured several main roster Superstars in recent weeks, including the likes of Becky Lynch, The Judgment Day, and Seth Rollins.
Fightful Select is reporting that main roster talents coming down to NXT is WWE’s strategy to increase viewership and ratings on Tuesday nights.
WWE sources have suggested that the company is pushing to reach higher numbers for better leverage for a rights fee deal or package.
WWE plans to prove that with a few changes to its product, the ratings can increase at any point in time. This in turn can make WWE’s product more appealing to any network.
WWE officials are reportedly “ecstatic” about the improved metrics for the September 12th NXT episode, featuring Becky Lynch vs. Tiffany Stratton. It was the show’s largest audience in nearly three years.
