LA Knight’s current storyline and how he has not been featured more prominently is “all by plan” and WWE executives view the former Eli Drake very positively.
Knight has reportedly been praised internally for getting over on his own and organically breaking beyond what he was given by WWE’s creative team. Knight’s brief run as Max Dupri has also been compared to Steve Austin’s Ringmaster in how it motivated Knight to “over-excel.”
While there are big plans for Knight in the near future, WWE is reportedly waiting for the right timing to pull the trigger. Until then, WWE plans on using Knight in a way that won’t waste his momentum.
Recent merchandise sales for Knight have also been used to establish how he is rising along with his crowd reactions in non-televised segments.
