At Sunday’s NXT TakeOver 31 event, Io Shirai successfully retained the NXT Women’s Championship over Candice LeRae.
Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reports that there are no plans to continue the feud between Shirai and LeRae.
Instead, LeRae is now effectively out of the title chase. It was speculated that LeRae and husband Johnny Gargano, who lost to NXT North American Champion Damian Priest at this show, might be good fits for main roster call-ups.
Typically, some NXT are moved to the main roster during the WWE Draft, which so happens to start this Friday and ends next Monday.
