In a report provided by Fightful, we have some new details on the supposed plan proposed by WWE for Adam Cole with their intentions to move up to the main roster prior to him leaving the company and signing with AEW. Cole’s WWE contract expired at the end of August and he would go on to sign with AEW and debut at the All Out pay-per-view this month.
The idea pitched (which is rumored, by the way) was for Adam Cole to move up to the RAW brand as a heel manager for Keith Lee. According to Cole, he says that he never heard about this idea at all as it’s uncommon for certain creative pitches/ideas to not make it to the WWE Superstars if the company chooses to either not do the idea or go in a different direction.
WWE supposedly wanted Cole to cut his hair and give him a whole new look. Cole told WWE that he had no interest in cutting his hair for WWE television and the pitch was not made to him again. WWE sources reportedly had high praise for Cole for his transparency on what he did and didn’t like from a creative standpoint, along with how he dealt with his WWE exit. Cole spoke to Renee Paquette and revealed that he talked to Triple H and Shawn Michaels about going to AEW.
