Take this as just a rumor for now!
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the belief “within the industry” is that both Eric Young and Bobby Roode are heading to WWE after they both quit TNA Wrestling over the weekend.
The site says nothing is confirmed as of now but Dave Meltzer confirmed that both men asked for and were granted their releases on Saturday night. They both still had time left on their current contracts. Meltzer noted that the “word going around” is that both men are WWE bound but it’s only talk right now and nothing has been made official. Of course, WWE is likely interested in both men but no deals have been signed as of this writing.
As Rachel noted earlier here on eWrestlingNews.com, there are rumors that Roode and Young have been unhappy with creative as of late and requested pay raises from TNA Wrestling. When they were told they weren’t going to get any raises, they both requested their release at Saturday night’s TV tapings. Those releases were both granted as noted above.
As reported on Sunday here on eWN, Eric Young is scheduled to appear at the UPWA event in Wilmington, North Carolina this Saturday and is currently taking indy bookings.
