Backstage Update On The Rumors Of Corey Graves Having Heat Backstage In WWE

We reported last week here on eWrestlingNews.com (via The Wrestling Observer) that there were rumors that WWE announcer Corey Graves had some “backstage heat” on him after he posted a message to his Instagram account that appeared to reference WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia. Following the show, Graves said the following, “A drink to remember that no [matter] how bad WE think we have it, at least our women have rights and we all have freedom of expression. #ifyougetityougetit”.

Dave Meltzer reported that there are people backstage in WWE who understand his statements but believe they should have been made in private. The report also claimed that Graves is “more replaceable than he thinks he is.”

Now, the official WrestleVotes Twitter says that is not the case. According to their source, the report of Graves having heat and being called “replaceable” was “laughable.” They said, “Graves is a big part of WWE TV, and is well liked by almost everyone.”

So, we have two conflicting reports by two different sources. The WrestleVotes account has broken some accurate wrestling news stories in the past, including Neville’s WWE departure/contract issues and WWE pay-per-view events becoming dual-branded shows in 2018 starting with tonight’s Backlash pay-per-view.
