Corey Graves is having quite the ride as the lead commentator of WWE SmackDown but has admitted that taking on this role has been daunting.
After years across several brands as a commentator, Graves is currently the lead commentator on SmackDown where he has been working alongside Wade Barrett.
On a recent edition of the “Gunz Show” podcast, Graves discussed his excitement and anticipation for the evolution of his WWE role. He said,
“Sitting in the colored chair is a blast but trying to steer the ship and avoid the iceberg for a full two-hour show, or however long it may be, it’s a pretty daunting task and I’m still getting my feet underneath me. I feel like I came out of the gate pretty strong. I’m feeling confident and comfortable. I’m looking forward to my own evolution and really try to carve my own niche because there haven’t been a lot of long-term, play-by-play guys in WWE history.”
In 2022, Graves was medically cleared to compete. Despite this, the former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion has not had a match on the main roster.
