In a somewhat shocking turn of events that occurred Saturday night at WWE SummerSlam, the original plan was for Bianca Belair to defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against “The Boss” Sasha Banks. Banks no showed the match, and was originally going to be replaced by Carmella. Before the match could begin, Becky Lynch made her return to WWE for the first time in well over a year.
“The Man” took out Carmella and then challenged Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Belair accepted, then was quickly taken out by Lynch in a squash victory as Becky pinned Belair following “The Man Slam”. Becky Lynch is now your new SmackDown Women’s Champion.
