Some big news regarding Kenny Omega and his future with AEW today.
As we previously reported here on eWn, Kenny Omega’s contract with All Elite Wrestling was expected to be up in early 2023. There are some rumors that he’s been working without a contract in recent weeks.
According to a report from Fightful, there is a clause in Omega’s contract that would allow AEW to add time for the time he was out of action with an injury. This is standard for most AEW deals. With that being said, several sources don’t believe AEW have added any time to Omega’s contract “yet.”
It should be noted that Kenny Omega has good talent representation, so adding time to his deal may not be as easy as it looks. It could also come with concessions from AEW. Omega’s AEW contract allows him to appear in NJPW as long as it doesn’t conflict with his duties to AEW.
Lastly, there are several people in WWE who believe the company has a real shot at landing Omega. It’s been said that “The Cleaner” has a positive relationship with WWE and Triple H in particular.
