As noted, there are rumors that former AEW World Champion CM Punk could have his contract bought out. Punk’s last appearance on AEW television was at All Out 2022, when he won the AEW World Championship after defeating Jon Moxley. He was subsequently suspended for his involvement in a backstage altercation between himself, Ace Steel, and members of The Elite.
On the most recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T gave his thoughts on the CM Punk situation and whether he could see him possibly returning to WWE. He said,
“There’s always a chance. But I don’t think it’s a big chance … that we see CM Punk back in WWE. I don’t think CM Punk wants to go back to WWE. I mean, CM Punk has made it perfectly clear ever since he’s shown up in AEW, what he feels and what he thinks about WWE and everything in it.”
