WWE Hall of Famer and Impact Wrestling star Bully Ray has said WWE should avoid bringing back ‘The Fiend’ now that Bray Wyatt has returned.

Wyatt returned to WWE in the closing moments of the Extreme Rules 2022 Premium Live Event, 15 months after his release under the company’s previous regime.

On a recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, Bully Ray gave his reasons for why WWE should move on from The Fiend. He said,

“He is the ultimate gimmick, but, to me, it can get a little too gimmicky at times. Even with The Undertaker, The Undertaker was the ultimate gimmick but when the lights came on and the bell rang, he wrestled matches as The Undertaker and you knew what you were.

“When Bray Wyatt was in the Wyatt Family, I think the matches were a lot easier to understand and digest than they were with The Fiend. I hope they stay away from The Fiend character because when it comes to The Fiend and actual wrestling. I think there’s a disconnect with the people.”

The Fiend character was introduced in 2019 and was used for Wyatt’s most recent match to date: his WrestleMania 37 loss to Randy Orton in April 2021.
