AEW may have its most credible World Champion since the company’s inception in Samoa Joe, according to WWE/TNA Hall of Famer Bully Ray.
Joe captured the AEW World Championship at AEW Worlds End 2023, breaking the record-long reign of MJF who hasn’t competed for AEW since the title loss.
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bully Ray evaluated AEW’s newest World Champion. He said,
“He’s credible, everything about him screams credibility. First and foremost, when he talks… when Joe talks, I listen, because he makes me listen. When he talks, when he wrestles, the way he carries himself, just his aura and stature –- the guy screams legitimacy. I always use Joe as one of my best examples of people that take scripted promos and own it and make it their own.”
Bully Ray also brought up another Samoan who carries himself in a manner that screams credibility – Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Joe marked his first title defense with a submission victory over HOOK.
