Chris Jericho appeared on Busted Open Radio earlier this week, and during the interview, he brought up how he had a program with former boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, who just picked up a TKO victory over UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, in the summer of 2009.
Jericho recalled watching the confrontation and dreamed about the massive payday that he would’ve received if he had the chance to work a match with Mayweather. Jericho discussed his admiration for McMahon and talked about the best practices for pitching ideas to McMahon. Here is what he had to say (h/t Wrestling Inc):
“I was like, ‘How could I have forgotten about this?’ I texted that picture to Vince (McMahon) and I’m like, ‘Why didn’t you book Mayweather vs. Jericho? We could’ve made $700 million!’ What a missed opportunity,'” Jericho joked.
“With him, you never pitch ideas when he’s hungry,” Jericho said. “You never pitch ideas when he’s in the room with somebody else.”
