Several wrestlers in AEW still do not want CM Punk to return after this week’s episode of Dynamite.
During the show, there was no mention of Punk, though Tony Khan confirmed that the AEW World Championship has been vacated.
Punk was stripped of the gold following his comments during the All Out media scrum, a fight backstage after All Out and a torn muscle injury.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said several wrestlers still want Punk gone.
“Punk may still be gone, I don’t know how it’s going to play out, but I do know that a lot of people want him gone. If he stays he has to have a completely different attitude, and I don’t think that’s possible.”
Punk has also been removed from the AEW Dynamite opening video package.
Footage of MJF’s unmasking at All Out shown during Dynamite was carefully edited to not feature CM Punk.
