Liv Morgan won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match at Saturday’s premium live event and later cashed in the briefcase to defeat Ronda Rousey to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion.
The cash-in happened after Rousey successfully retained the title over Natalya. WWE teased Morgan failing in the cash-in attempt as Rousey quickly put her in the ankle lock, but Morgan got out of it and rolled up Rousey for the win.
Dave Meltzer reported on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that the current plan is for Morgan to defend the title against Rousey at SummerSlam on July 30th.
