The legendary undefeated streak of Bill Goldberg in WCW would’ve ended far sooner than it did if the wrestler himself had gotten his way.
On a recent edition of the “Steve and Captain Evil” podcast, Goldberg said he had no control over the streak and recalled pitching Bobby Eaton to end it. He said,
“No, I was never in the situation where I made a call! The fact is that they never paid me enough money to also be a producer.
“It was his [Eaton’s] birthday and we were doing a House Show and I wanted him to beat me on his birthday in the middle of The Streak, and they wouldn’t let me and I had no idea why!”
Goldberg would rack up 173 wins in WCW before being beaten by Kevin Nash at Starrcade 1998 after a taser-wielding Scott Hall would shock the master of the Jackhammer.
