Jim Ross has said that Vince McMahon is an old friend of his but isn’t entirely sure if the TKO Chairman feels the same way.
During a recent edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross was asked about whether he considers McMahon a friend and was quick to respond. He said,
“Absolutely — Vince did a lot of great things for me and he was very pro-family. You can’t not consider a guy a friend … he made me a lot of money. I don’t know if he considers me a friend, we don’t talk — but I certainly consider him a friend and someone I have great respect for.”
While Ross considers McMahon a friend, JR’s former employer was never shy of making fun of him on TV with McMahon parodying Ross’ Bells Palsy during a 2012 show.
The segment drew criticism at the time with former WWE writer Seth Mates saying the spot showed WWE’s hypocrisy to its anti-bullying ‘Be A Star’ campaign.
