While Kevin Owens defeated Austin Theory in a singles match at Sunday’s WWE house show from the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin, Owens appeared to have been injured.
As he dropped from the turnbuckle, Owens fell hard on his knee and instantly held it as the referee checked on him. He then stood back up, struck Theory with a stunner, and secured the pin. Owens was helped to the backstage area by a referee and was limping badly.
Although he has continued to work live events, Owens hasn’t been featured on WWE television since he and Johnny Gargano defeated Alpha Academy on the September 26 episode of WWE RAW.
As the person who broke the Kevin Owens news, felt I should give a bit more information as to what happened at #WWEMadison:
• dropped from a turnbuckle and jammed his knee
• pounded the mat while clutching it and talking to a ref
• WAS able to get to his feet and hit stunner— Matt Blaustein (@MattBlaustein) November 14, 2022
