Despite fending off the Usos during the main event of WrestleMania 39 (Night One), Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn weren’t able to stop Roman Reigns from successfully defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes.
During an appearance on the TODAY SHOW, Owens discussed what happened during the main event and said he and Zayn tried their best to help Rhodes win.
“We did our best to make things right, and once again, we kept the Usos… they didn’t belong in that match. We made sure they didn’t have too big of an impact on anything that happened,” Owens said. “It just went the way it was.”
