On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray suggested how WWE can revitalize Damage CTRL (IYO SKY, Bayley, Kairi Sane, Dakota Kai & Asuka) following their loss to Team Bianca Belair in the Women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series 2023.
Ray said, “Here’s the only light at the end of the tunnel I see, … and I might really be grasping here but I think a lot of people would like to see this. Damage CTRL turns on Bayley. Charlotte [Flair] and Becky [Lynch] show Bayley sympathy, and then Mercedes [Mone] comes back, and you reunite the Four Horsewomen, and the Four Horsewomen ride into WrestleMania 40.”
On a recent edition of his “Tuesday with The Taskmaster” podcast, former WCW booker Kevin Sullivan praised WWE for keeping CM Punk’s return to the company at Survivor Series 2023 a surprise following his AEW release this past September.
Sullivan said, “You can never say never in the wrestling business. They did a magnificent job of keeping this quiet. He met with them, they asked him to leave the building, and there was no way he was going to be a part of it, and boy, what a place to do it! And what a way to end the show! I started to hear some negative things about The Bloodline … ‘Have they lost it?’ ‘Have they gone too far?’ They knew how to take it right back away, picked up the fumble, and ran 99 and a half yards all the way.”
Punk is scheduled to appear on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
