Cody Rhodes has reportedly suffered a torn pectoral muscle but is expected to appear at tonight’s Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event.

Earlier today, it was reported that Rhodes had been removed from a match at a WWE Live event on Saturday due to an injury and was replaced by Drew McIntyre.

McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins at the Saturday event, but Rhodes appeared after the match.

On today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Rhodes suffered an injury while weight training this week which is believed to be a torn pectoral.

“The presumption everyone had was he’s working Hell in a Cell tonight and from there we’ll see. But a torn pec is, you know, that’s a pretty serious injury, if it is that.”

A report from the New York Sports Medicine Institute notes that torn pectorals can take between six months to a year to recover from.

Should it go ahead, the match will be the third Premium Live Event match between Rollins and Rhodes, with the latter winning at WrestleMania and WrestleMania: Backlash. Rhodes will also be working in a tremendous amount of pain tonight if the match takes place.
