WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan has said that the roster was shocked by Vince McMahon’s decision to retire.
McMahon announced his retirement last Friday, a month after stepping down as CEO and Chairman of WWE.
Speaking to The Mirror, Morgan spoke about the reaction behind the scenes.
“We were all shocked. And it felt sudden. But we all owe so much to Vince. So if he felt like it was time, then it was time.
“We’re also excited to be working with Stephanie and Nick [Khan, the other co-CEO). Stephanie was born into this business, so there’s literally no one better for the job than her.”
Morgan did not make reference to the allegations of misconduct that have been reported by the Wall Street Journal.
