Fightful Select have come through with a report about a major backstage meeting that took place at last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
Thunder Rosa has rejoined All Elite Wrestling as she recovers from injury, joining the Spanish-language commentary team. The meeting last week was held to ease some tension and to address some of the frayed relationships between Rosa and other members of the roster.
Those with knowledge of the meeting said that Rosa did a lot to make amends for several issues that came up during her run with the company. Some women took issue with Rosa’s approach to things. They also didn’t like how Rosa made other women in the locker room look like bullies. There were some complaints about Rosa sandbagging opponents and working stiff, though one female talent came to Rosa’s defense, saying that those issues were in the past and had been rectified.
Others on the roster took issue with Rosa not being on the road with AEW, but continuing to travel for other work. The legitimacy of Rosa’s injury was also called into question, which Rosa addressed. As she works her way back to the ring, Rosa is working Spanish commentary and by all accounts, she’s happy to participate.
Rosa is not yet cleared for an in-ring return, but is said to be getting closer. A member of AEW management said they felt the meeting was productive and hoped it was a “clean slate.”
