The brother of Making a Murderer subject Brendan Dassey is trying to get former WWE stars to visit his jailed sibling in prison.
Brad Dassey told Pro Wrestling Sheet that he plans to reach out to wrestling stars to get them to visit Brendan, who is serving a forty-one year sentence after being convicted of being a party to first-degree intentional homicide, second-degree sexual assault, and mutilating a corpse.
In the fourth episode of the Netflix series, audio of Brendan on the phone with his mother reveals that he was upset about missing WrestleMania that year. Brad said that he wrote Brendan to find out who his favorite wrestlers were and plans on reaching out to anyone on the list.
The prison Brendan is in has restrictions on who can visit, so it is possible that even if someone does agree to meet him they could be denied entry. Brad also noted that a fan of the show sent him a WrestleMania boxed set that will be given to Brendan when he is released from prison.
Dassey’s case is currently on appeal, as his legal team contends that he was illegally arrested and incarcerated in connection with the murder of Teresa Halbach. They have submitted a petition for a writ of habeas corpus in order to bring Dassey to court so it can be determined whether he is lawfully imprisoned.
