Matt Hardy expects big things in the future for Ricky Starks after he and Big Bill captured the AEW World Tag Team Championships last week.
During a recent edition of his “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, Hardy spoke about Starks who has become a consistent presence on AEW programming. He said,
“I like Ricky. I think Ricky has a ton of potential. I like seeing him utilized in a nice spot like this, highlighted as a champion, and getting that win over FTR. So I dig it, and I think Ricky is going to be a very important building block for AEW going forward in the future.”
Hardy added that he was very surprised when he heard of Starks and Big Bill squashing FTR to win the tag titles but is “very happy” for the pair.
This title win marks Big Bill’s first taste of AEW gold while Starks is a former FTW Champion and captured the Men’s 2023 Owen Hart Foundation Cup.
