Former WWE Superstar Maven didn’t want anything between his ‘boys’ and the squared circle, the Tough Enough winner has disclosed.
When responding to the internet’s most searched WWE questions in his latest YouTube video, Maven was asked whether wrestlers wear cups during matches. He said,
“No. I want absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing, between my boys and the mat. I can’t think of anything more painful than landing on a flat, on a base bump, and having a cup down there. Ugh.”
“But to summarize, I did not wear a cup. I never saw anyone putting a cup on backstage. But then again, I wasn’t really paying attention and watching other guys get dressed or get undressed back there. So maybe they did. I didn’t.”
Maven became a two-time Hardcore Champion during his WWE run and is remembered for his shocking elimination of The Undertaker during the 2002 Royal Rumble match.
