We reported over the weekend here on eWn that former WCW star Mark “Van Hammer” Hildreth was arrested for DUI after he hit a five-year old boy who was riding his bicycle with his father. Following the arrest, Hildreth has been pulled from the Wrestlecon event.

According to the Washington Times News, eyewitness Eric Tilghman said the following,

“The father picked up the son off the road The kid was crying. The dad was crying. The guy was out of the car. I’m looking at the guy and he’s getting back in the car. We’re yelling at him, ‘Don’t you leave. Don’t you leave!’”

Hildreth got back into his car and left the scene of the accident. That’s when Tilghman got into his own car and followed him all the way back to his home. He took several photos while pursuing him. Once they arrived at the home, Hildreth sat on his front steps and was taken into custody once police arrived. During the police interrogation, he began crying and claiming that the child rode in front of him.

He is facing a felony charge of hit and run with failure to stop in a crash involving others, DUI with injuries to another person, and leaving the scene of an injury crash.

For what it’s worth, Hildreth has two previous DUIs. One of those took place in Texas in 1985 and the other one took place in Georgia in 2004. He’s previously admitted that he has alcohol issues.
