Several international subscribers of FITE TV were sent a notification today that their AEW+ subscriptions would be expiring soon. This led to widespread speculation that AEW was about to announce its own streaming platform.
However, the notices were due to a technical issue from FITE. It is to be noted that Warner Bros. Discovery has streaming rights to AEW in the United States.
FITE issued the following statement:
“Some subscribers received notices about their AEW+ subscription ending in error this week. The problem has been resolved and no action is needed at this time. AEW+ is alive and well and we’re looking forward to some incredible events this month in London.”

This evening, August 2 at 8PM ET on TBS, AEW celebrates a landmark 200th episode of DYNAMITE, live from The Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla. The high octane show will feature AEW originals Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) battling Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh in a trios match. As his invitation to The Don Callis Family looms, Chris Jericho teams with Konosuke Takeshita to take on Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia. Hardcore legend Jerry Lynn comes face-to-face with FTW Champion Jack Perry. ROH World Tag Team Champions Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) defend against El Hijo del Vikingo & Komander. Jon Moxley, Trent Beretta and Penta El Zero Miedo collide in an Anything Goes match. Also, AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm defends against Hikaru Shida. And, we’ll hear from AEW World Champion MJF.

Taking to Twitter, Ethan Page reflected on his Dynamite matchup against Bryan Danielson, labeling it as one of his favorites. He wrote,

On the latest episode of his “What Happened When” podcast, Tony Schiavone revealed that he wishes to keep working backstage after he retires as an announcer in wrestling.
Schiavone currently has a backstage role in AEW as Senior Producer, Special Advisor, and Talent Relations. He said,
“I’d still want to work backstage. I’d like to have a baseball bat and whack guys in the ass with it when they wouldn’t get their work done. Which I kinda got now. I’d like to do kind of what I’m doing now, and that is work in talent relations. Because I think I know how to handle people, and I do. It’s a very, very tricky job in wrestling to work in talent relations. I’m not the only one who works in talent relations, there’s like three of us. It’s a very tricky job because you have to, everybody’s different, you have to approach people differently, you have to be receptive to their ideas, and you have to kind of be sympathetic to their feelings. Right now, I handle every gripe and complaint that a wrestler has now, kind of goes through me and I try to settle it as best I can. If it ends up between two wrestlers, we probably need to go over my head with it or get other people involved. But I like dealing with talent, I really, really do. I think part of that is because the talent that I’m dealing with now all kind of watched me as they were going up, so they have a respect for me. I don’t get it, but they do, and it helps me with my job. So I really like talent relations. Now talent relations is nothing like what JR was doing. Because JR was doing payoffs, contracts and shit like that. I’m just kind of like babysitting, but I like that.”
