Nick Aldis has confirmed his role with WWE by stating that it’s “safe to say” he’s working with the promotion.
Aldis, a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, began shadowing as a producer earlier this year and has helped produce a few matches for WWE programming.
Speaking on a recent edition of the “McGuire on Wrestling” podcast, Aldis addressed his WWE role. He said,
“I think it’s safe to say I’m working with WWE, yes. That’s the way I look at it — I’m working with them at the moment. At least from my point of view, I feel like it’s been very positive, and I’ve enjoyed it. And it’s been rewarding, and I’m very obviously flattered that they would want my input and expertise, … especially with helping some of the younger talent that are coming up from NXT.”
While WWE once wanted Aldis for an in-ring role, it has been reported that at this time, WWE’s interest in the British wrestler is solely as a producer.
In the same interview, Aldis said that WWE has been “very understanding” of his independent commitments as well as Aldis’ desire to be there for his wife, Impact Wrestling’s Mickie James.
