NJPW has announced the dates for the next edition of the New Japan Cup, the single elimination tournament that gives the winner a title match at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
The cup will start on March 2nd in Tokyo and finish on the 27th of the same month in Osaka, while on March 1st NJPW will hold its 50th Anniversary Show. Below you can see the dates and venues of every New Japan Cup 2022 event.

- March 6 – Fukushima – Big Palette Fukushima
- March 9 – Tokyo – Korakuen Hall
- March 10 – Yamanshi – Aimesse Yamanashi
- March 12 – Aichi – Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium
- March 13 – Hyogo – Baycom General Gymnasium
- March 14 – Kagawa – Takamatsu City Gymnasium 1st Stadium
- March 15 – Okayama – Zip Arena Okayama
- March 17 – Shizuoka – Twin Messe Shizuoka South Building
- March 18 – Tokyo – Korakuen Hall
- March 20 – Niigata – Aore Nagaoka
- March 21 – Niigata – Aore Nagaoka
- March 26 – Osaka – Osaka Castle Hall

Between Wrestle Kingdom 16 and the tournament, NJPW will hold the “New Years Golden Series” tour from January 22nd to February 20th.
The defending New Japan Cup winner is Will Ospreay, who triumphed last year and went on to defeat Kota Ibushi at Sakura Genesis on April 30th to claim his first IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
