As we previously reported here on eWn, David Finlay was forced to withdraw from the ‘New Japan Cup’ tournament due to an illness, as he had to visit the hospital. His scheduled match with Hirooko Goto was cancelled and Goto won via forfeit.
NJPW has now announced that Finlay will also miss night ten of the New Japan Cup tour, which takes place on Sunday. KENTA will replace Finlay in his tag match.
In other news, wrestling legends Jerry Lawler and Dave Brown, as well as AEW wrestlers Jeff Jarrett and Satnam Singh appeared at Saturday’s Memphis Grizzlies game.
During the first quarter, Jarrett and Singh stole the Grind City Lifetime Achievement Championship from Lawler.
At halftime, Singh continued his heel run, defeating four wrestlers, including Ray Ray Sanders and Big John Dalton.
Finally, Super Grizz, the team’s mascot, got Singh to his knees and hit a superkick to end his reign of terror after the third quarter.
Grizz hit a crossbody off the commentary booth for the win.
