Pat McAfee made a surprise appearance on the inaugural night of WrestleMania 39, and very few people had knowledge of his cameo.
McAfee appeared at WrestleMania 39 (Night One) and defeated The Miz in an impromptu match that was sanctioned by rapper Snoop Dogg.
On the latest episode of his “Pat McAfee Show” on Monday, McAfee discussed his WrestleMania 39 appearance, revealing that only five people including himself knew about the plan. He said,
“Michael Cole had no idea that I was there.”
McAfee stated that he saw Michael Cole walking by from his tour bus and wanted to say hi, but he had to hold back in order to not disrupt any plans. McAfee continued,
“Obviously, Miz did not know until Saturday. For [a] shoot. When my music hit is near when Miz found out.”
McAfee similarly returned at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event to sit at the commentary booth, an appearance that was kept a well-guarded secret leading up to the show.
