According to a report provided by POST Wrestling and John Pollock, tonight’s WWE Clash of Champions 2020 card is expected to be going through some significant changes, and two matches are either going to be removed completely or changed, at the very least.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley was scheduled to defend her title against Nikki Cross. According to the update provided above, that match is no longer taking place. Nikki Cross did not appear on last Friday’s episode, but Bayley did cut a promo to hype up the match and continued to do so yesterday on Talking Smack. However, there’s not expected to be a last-minute replacement for Nikki Cross. No word as of this time as to why the match isn’t taking place or who would possibly replace Nikki Cross if a replacement were to happen.
The other match that’s reportedly undergoing another change is the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match with Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax defending the titles against Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan. As of now, the Women’s Tag Team match is said to be completely “off” the show. Unfortunately, no other information has been provided as to why this change is being made. We will more updates on this developing situation as more information comes out.
Per the report, these matches will be addressed on the kickoff show for tonight’s Night of Champions, starting at 6pm(EST) on the WWE Network.
