Back in July, AEW filed to trademark “King of Harts.”
Dave Meltzer previously reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this was originally going to be the name of the recently announced Owen Hart Cup Tournament.
AEW President Tony Khan always had the idea of either the Owen Hart Cup or ‘The Owen,’ which is the name of the trophy.
It has since been revealed that AEW filed to trademark King of Harts simply to get the name secured, and then give it to Martha Hart as a gift.
