Jon Moxley reportedly considered remaining a free agent instead of re-signing with AEW.
Last week, AEW confirmed that Moxley has signed a five-year exclusive deal with the company, but will still compete for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Moxley, the reigning AEW World Champion, considered keeping his options open.
“I know at some point he discussed… I don’t know how seriously, but just being a free agent and doing that as opposed to signing a new deal.”
Moxley will be able to appear elsewhere, but what it is believed to be on a “surprise basis.”
