As usual, WWE taped Main Event prior to Monday’s RAW TV tapings.
During the tapings, Ciampa vs. Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez vs. T-BAR took place. Ciampa was working as a babyface during his match with Crews.
According to a report from Fightful, the original plan was for Ciampa to face off against Finn Balor on the show and Ciampa was internally listed as the heel. Obviously, that match was nixed at the last minute.
In recent weeks on RAW, Ciampa has been attacking Mustafa Ali.
As of this writing, there is no word on why WWE nixed the Ciampa vs. Balor match.
