Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair believes some wrestlers are far more interested in getting a reaction from fans online than in listening to what those backstage are saying.

During the latest edition of the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast, Flair spoke about what he considers to be one of the biggest issues with modern professional wrestling. He said,

“A lot of guys listen to the audience, and then instead of listening to what Vince [McMahon] says in Gorilla or Michael Hayes, they run to the computer to see what the fans are saying.

“Some of these kids would rather have someone that knows nothing about wrestling say, ‘God, that was cool,’ when it was a living [expletive]. In other words, only care about what the guy says that’s sitting in that chair.”

Flair competed in his last match in July 2022, which he has criticized several times. Despite this, Flair has said he has no intentions of competing again.

The Nature Boy appeared on WWE programming in January of this year as part of the “RAW Is 30” event.
