At WrestleMania 25, Chris Jericho wrestled WWE Hall of Famers Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat in a handicap match, where Jericho emerged victorious.
Ricky Steamboat, who produced the best performance of the three legends, reminisced on the match in a recent interview with Bill Apter.
Here’s what the former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion had to say,
“I’ll never forget the chant when I was in the ring with [Chris] Jericho and they were chanting ‘You still got it!’. Remember that? I was in the ring and I looked at Chris and asked ‘What are they saying?’ and he looked out and said ‘they’re saying you still got it’.”
After a sensational performance at WrestleMania 25, Ricky Steamboat wrestled Chris Jericho in a one-on-one match at Backlash 2009. This was his first singles match since 1994. The match was widely acclaimed by fans and experts, and Steamboat was given a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance following the match.
He wrestled a few matches on house shows for the remainder of the year before hanging up his boots for good.
