Fans all around the globe will watch all of their favorites push their chips all in to write the next chapters of their legacies as the Best Wrestling on the Planet’s DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR airs on Pay Per View, ROHWrestling.com, Fite.TV App, and Playstation Network at 9 PM EST/6 PM PST!
After winning the ROH World Championship at Best in the World, “The American Nightmare” Cody has threatened to take the championship all around the globe as a free agent, defending it against competitors that cannot be named on television through an Open Challenge. For weeks, Cody has grandstanded and put out a worldwide call for an opponent for the 15th Annual DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR.
It has been answered by one of the world’s most dangerous men.

ROH WORLD CHAMPION “THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE” CODY vs. NEVER OPENWEIGHT CHAMPION MINORU SUZUKI
For the first time in 25 years, MINORU SUZUKI returns to the United States and he does so at a time when he has never been better or more dangerous. As an amateur, Suzuki was an Olympic alternate before becoming one of the most menacing, methodical, and threatening fighters in the history of wrestling. Suzuki honed his craft as a professional under Hall of Famers Billy Robinson, Karl Gotch, and Kotetsu Yamamoto, a man that responsible for training Jushin “Thunder” Liger, the Great Muta, Masa Chono, and Shinsuke Nakamura, among others.
Suzuki first gained international notoriety role in the creation of Pancrase and it was there Suzuki made his name in classic battles against Ken Shamrock, earning the title of King of Pancrase. Suzuki has earned singles and tag team championship gold in every major Japanese promotion, using a variety of submissions including arm breakers, heel hooks, and his signature sleeper hold, as well as his Gotch-style Piledriver that he is able to hit at almost any point in the match. Most recently, Suzuki captured New Japan’s NEVER Openweight Championship in April in Hiroshima defeating Hirooki Goto.
After this weekend’s episode of ROH Wrestling, the accolades and the nearly-three decades of success has a lot of ROH fans wondering did Cody make a grave mistake?
Like Cody, Suzuki operates as an international free agent and is the leader of the group known as Suzuki-Gun, whose ranks also include El Desperado. Killer Elite Squad, Taka Michinoku, Taichi, and more. Suzuki-Gun has terrorized multiple Japanese wrestling organizations with their current focus being New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Cody has shown in the past that he is not above having Bullet Club ringside as insurance – will the threat or the reality of Suzuki-Gun being ringside ensure this is an evenly contested bout? And is Suzuki signing this contract a sign that Suzuki-Gun, many of whom have signed to appear on the Global Wars Tour, may be targeting ROH next?
