Savio Vega and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin had a very unique time when the power went out during an event that they were competing at.
Austin faced Vega in a Caribbean Strap match at the company’s ‘In Your House: Beware Of Dog’ pay-per-view event but bad weather led to the power going out during the show.
On a recent edition of the “Stories With Brisco & Bradshaw” podcast, Vega reflected on the infamous match with the Texas Rattlesnake. He said,
“I remember Steve in the ring. Here I come. Soon Kevin Dunn put the camera on me — boom. Just [for] a fraction of a second, you see my face, and then the lights went off.”
The pair would wrestle days later at a make-up event, though Vega was not as fond of their rematch. He said,
“To be honest, I liked the first match. That was the real Lights Out match.”
