On this week’s edition of SmackDown, Jeff Hardy defeated AJ Styles to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Earlier in the evening, AJ attacked Jeff from behind, causing a knee injury. However, during the match, Hardy’s knee brace would connect with Styles’ face as he was escaping a Styles Clash, and he hit the Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb to defeat him.
This is Jeff Hardy’s fifth reign with the Intercontinental Championship.
