William Regal may have appeared on this week’s episode of WWE NXT, but fans shouldn’t expect the Brit to be a regular on programming.
In his first appearance on WWE programming since his January 2022 release, Regal confirmed that Ava is the new NXT General Manager, making her WWE’s youngest GM.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about Regal’s future on NXT and said that his appearance this week was “only a cameo.”
Regal was let out of his AEW contract in late 2022 to allow him to return to WWE NXT so he could spend more time with his son Charlie Dempsey.
As part of Regal’s release, AEW mandated that he could not appear on WWE programming for the first year of his return to the Stamford-based company.
Regal serves as WWE’s Vice President of Global Talent Development. He is a former Intercontinental, European, and Tag Champion. He’s also a King of the Ring winner.
