All Elite Wrestling is waiting on the return of Kenny Omega before they move ahead with plans for the rumored Trios titles.
Since the company was founded, there has been speculation of six-man-tag team championships being introduced with members of the Elite openly teasing their arrival.
On a media call ahead of this Sunday’s Revolution Pay Per View, Tony Khan was asked about the possible Trios titles, and replied saying:
“We have a lot of great trios here. I am very interested in it. I’ll be 100% honest with you, this is the most blunt answer I could give, I’m much more receptive to doing it when Kenny Omega’s back. Because I think that is going to happen, and when Kenny Omega’s back, I think the trios division is that much stronger. We could do a great tournament now and have a great trios division.”
Omega hasn’t wrestled since last September’s All Out and is currently recovering from multiple injuries.
The former AEW World Champion has said he will be back at some point this year.
