WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is essentially paying AEW, not the other way around, thanks to Tony Khan’s deal with Flair’s ‘Woooo Energy’ beverage.
Since signing, Flair’s energy drink has been the official energy drink of AEW and has been advertised throughout episodes of AEW TV since the deal came together.
Speaking to the New York Post, Khan spoke about Flair being by Sting’s side for his retirement tour and how AEW is benefitting from the Nature Boy. He said,
“We’re not paying Ric Flair; Ric Flair is essentially paying us. We’re getting paid by Wooooo Energy for all of his appearances, so we’re collecting revenue from them.”
Flair recently made some controversial remarks during a taping of AEW Rampage. The Nature Boy has said he is willing to leave AEW if he embarrasses Khan.
