AEW concluded the year with its Worlds End pay-per-view event held at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, on Saturday night. The headline bout showcased AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF defending Samoa Joe.Â
Prior to the match, MJF was dealing with injuries to his shoulder and hip, leading to expectations of him taking a break following the event.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Joe’s win and capturing the title were always part of AEW’s plans and not because of MJF’s injuries. There were no late-minute changes to the plans due to MJF’s condition.
