Thunder Rosa announced last August that she was dealing with an injury and couldn’t defend the AEW Women’s Title.
The back injury caused Rosa to be sidelined, with the promotion introducing an interim title at All Out. Later, Jamie Hayter defeated Toni Storm to win the title at AEW Full Gear. Hayter eventually became the true champion before Storm won it back at this year’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view event.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rosa is not expected to work All In 2023 on August 27. He wrote,
“As of this week, add Thunder Rosa to the list of those who are not expected back in time for Wembley although she is training for her return.“
